We took time out to talk to small and medium sized businesses all over the country about their marketing. Unfortunately what they told us came as no surprise. They had a healthy mistrust of advertising agencies fuelled by tales of extortionate pricing and arrogant behaviour. Yet, at the same time, these companies really wanted help. So we decided to create a new business model that would put these savvy cynics at ease. A model where they’d make the rules – one project at a time.

Who are we?
Projekt was set up by communications company, BallantyneTaylor. Think of us as the Robin Hood of the marketing and advertising world – we look after smaller companies who simply don’t need (the ego of) a full service agency, but still need an experienced partner to help grow their business.
Our expert team come from all over the world with very different backgrounds and areas of expertise. There’s our local Whakatane boy, whose dreams could not be contained by a rugby field as he set off to work for a top Australian agency. Then there’s the American journalist – who surprised us all with her mild fashion sense and somewhat open-minded viewpoint on gun control – who now acts as our content and social media expert. We’ve even got an English designer who, let’s be honest, is really only here for the weather.
